Center for Achievement
Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands is thrilled to be partnering with the Center for Achievement to offer the BE GREAT Academy program to parents and students. The BE GREAT Academy is a high-quality and affordable extended care youth development program.
Our programs and activities are built upon 100-plus years of best practices in Boys & Girls Clubs across the country. Many of our programs are curriculum-based and developed for us by nationally recognized experts in youth development and education. All of our programs and activities are designed to be purposeful and fun. We use the things our participants like to do to teach them skills they need to be successful today and in the future.
Our programs are focused in five core areas: Education and Career Development; Character and Leadership Development; Sports, Fitness, and Recreation; Health and Life Skills; and the Arts (drama and fine arts). Please visit our Programs tab for more detailed information.
Our staff members are hired based on their love and passion for working with youth. Our first priority is to hire from within your school community, and we anticipate that many of our staff members will be school staff with whom your children are familiar. Once hired, our staff members must pass a thorough background check and complete an extensive orientation before they begin to work with your children. Our staff members also receive between 15 and 25 hours of youth development and programmatic training throughout the year.
We believe every family should be able to afford the quality of service that we provide, so we offer a sliding-scale pricing model. Your program’s market price will be set based on the demographics of your community and the other programs offering services to the Center for Achievement. In addition, each family may apply for a reduced rate based on total household income. You will be able to register your child and apply for reduced rates through the Parent Portal.
We look forward to a GREAT program at the Center for Achievement next school year.
